Job Description Job Description SUMMARY OF ESSENCIAL FUNCTIONS
This position requires expertise and proficiency to effectively
perform the assembly and/or inspection of various types of seals,
labyrinth seals, journal/thrust bearings, and component parts for
high-speed rotating equipment to print with minimal supervision.
This position requires proficiency with all the necessary metrology
instruments. The ability and proficiency to identify and complete
all documentation accurately, ability to perform math manually
during inspections, and the ability to be able to switch between
jobs quickly. SPECIFIC DUTIES, ACTIVITIES, AND RESPOSIBILITIES
INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: Read and interpret dimensions, flag
notes, process requirements, standards, material call outs, or
other pertinent specifications from engineered drawings or sketches
to certify that assembly/part tolerances, surface finishes, and
visual conditions are per the drawings. Work from work order
routings, prints, sketches, layout sheets, written and/or verbal
instructions. Using mechanical ability to plan assembly sequences
and execute to meet the requirements as specified on the assembly
drawing. Inspect products, parts, components, sub-assemblies, or
assemblies using precision measuring equipment such as inside,
outside or depth micrometers, calipers, height gages, or other
measuring instruments, volt/ohm meters, gauss meters, gages, or
mandrels to verify conformance to specifications as low as .0005”
tolerances. Utilize a variety of instruments to verify all
dimensions, hole/feature locations, surface relationships,
finishes, coatings, or processes to ensure compliance. Perform as
required, in-process, final, and/or trouble-shooting inspection on
all component parts received from outside vendor sources or
manufactured in-house. Working knowledge of unique properties for a
variety of materials such as stainless steel, alloy steel, cast
iron, brass, thermoplastics, exotics or other as required. Prepare
inspection reports, customer requested documentation, nonconforming
material reports, or other documentation as required to ensure
conformance. All work performed must meet the work order estimated
time and delivery date from our ERP system. Keep the tools/work
area clean and orderly in compliance with shop protocol. Perform
duties in accordance with company safety policies and report any
unsafe conditions to the supervisor. At times it may require light
machining, grinding, polishing, and/or deburring using basic hand
tools on product components. Perform additional duties and
responsibilities, as necessary, as directed by your supervisor(s).
Multitask by keeping track of multiple parts/jobs, being able to
switch jobs quickly based off the company/customer needs and
completing assignments despite frequent interruptions. Must be able
to recognize and understand some of the functions of the machining
process as they pertain to finished part features, holding and
tooling methods utilized during manufacturing. Knowledgeable in the
principles used in quality assurance, such as ISO 9001, etc. Must
have the ability to utilize mathematical calculations required to
perform normal duties. Work independently and should be able to
manage time effectively to complete jobs in a timely manner. Must
have an analytical ability to solve problems and resolve technical
problems. May perform calibration duties that include but are not
limited to logs, tracking, in-house/vendor calibration, and tooling
adjustments. NDT experience or training may be required. EHS
REQUIREMENTS Complete all work in a safe manner and follow all
safety requirements consistently by supporting the EHS procedures.
Lifting guidelines in accordance with the EHS procedures. Follow
all environmental requirements consistently by supporting the EHS
procedures. Complete, and actively participate in all other EHS
training requirements. POSITION REQUIRMENTS High school diploma or
equivalent required with some technical school education. Minimum 4
years previous work experience in related work with solid
understanding and use of basic metrology tools and techniques.
Working knowledge of assembly and inspection tools, instruments,
techniques, and processes. Ability to read and interpret work
related to machine drawings such as detail, assembly, and layout
drawings. Ability to utilize mathematical calculations required in
the normal performance of your duties and be able to trouble shoot
and resolve technical problems. PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS Must
be able to maneuver parts, carts, and/or boxes weighing up to 50
pounds. Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time;
a minimum of 2 hours. Must be able to maneuver all areas of the
Miba locations. Must be able to bend, reach, kneel, twist, and grip
items while working at assigned areas. Must have manual dexterity
and coordination to operate office equipment, calculators, PC’s,
cameras, and copy machines. Must be able to simultaneously manage
several objectives, complete assignments and reassign priorities.
Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English. Must be
