Job Description:
On the Human Health and Performance Contract we are at the
forefront of safeguarding astronaut health, ensuring human
performance, and advancing technologies for human space
exploration. We are seeking a Project Engineer at the NASA Johnson
Space Center (JSC) in Houston, TX. What You’ll Do: In this role,
you play a pivotal part in the successful execution of projects and
delivery of hardware to NASA/Johnson Space Center in support of
exploration missions. Supporting the Space Suit and Crew Survival
Systems Branch (EC5), you will develop and verify project
requirements, perform development, engineering evaluation,
qualification and acceptance testing, certification, delivery, and
sustaining of project hardware. You serve as the hardware expert
and technical point of contact for the Project Manager within the
HHPC Engineering Department. Primary Responsibilities: Participate
in hands-on development activities Write Task Performance Sheet
Disposition of Discrepancy Reports Generate, review and
understanding engineering drawings Support Human-In-The-Loop
testing Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and
test space suits and related hardware Develop and maintain project
documentation, including project reports and technical memos What
You Bring: You bring experience in space suit design, softgoods
components fabrication, and testing of suit hardware. You use your
experience to troubleshoot hardware assemblies, test setup,
optimize processes for manufacturing. You will also perform root
cause analysis, failure investigation, risk management, and apply
lessons learned. You comply with contract Safety, Health and
Environmental Plan, Quality Plan, and all safety policies and
procedures, and complete all assigned training. ? Basic
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering field
Minimum of 5 years of experience in space suit design Preferred
experience with data management and process optimization
Familiarity with NASA Flight Hardware development requirements and
processes Effective at handling multiple tasks, flexible, and
responding quickly to change Able to communicate effectively both
verbally and in writing Able to work effectively with minimal
supervision This position is expected to be 100% on site and in
person. Occasional travel may be required. Preferred
Qualifications: Familiar with 3D modeling software (SolidWorks,
AutoCAD) Experience with troubleshooting of electrical/mechanical
equipment and software Proficiency with NASA/JSC tools: MIDAS, CDS,

posting date as listed above. Pay Range: Pay Range $87,100.00 -
$157,450.00 The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general
guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
