Medicine at UTMB is the largest department within UTMB’s John Sealy
School of Medicine, encompassing multiple divisions including
Allergy and Immunology, Endocrinology, Gastroenterology &
Hepatology, General Medicine, Geriatrics, Infectious Disease,
Medical Oncology and Hematology, Nephrology, Palliative Care,
Pulmonary, Critical Care & Sleep Medicine, and Rheumatology. For

Department seeks Advanced Practice Providers (PA’s and NP’s) to
perform responsible clinical care in collaboration with the unit
physician and under approved protocols, manages the medical aspects
of care in the observation, assessment, diagnosis, intervention,
evaluation, rehabilitation, care and counsel, and health teachings
of persons who are ill, injured or infirm or experiencing changes
in normal health processes; and in the promotion and maintenance of
health of prevention of illness in a clinical setting. No
experience is required, and current students are encouraged to
apply. Required Qualifications/Education for PA’s: Completion of a
physician assistant program accredited by the Accreditation Review
Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA).
Certification by the National Commission on Certification of
Physician Assistants (NCCPA). Licensed Physician Assistant by the
Texas Physician Assistant Board/Texas Medical Board (TPAB/TMB).
Required Qualifications/Education for NP’s: Completion of a
graduate level (or higher) nurse practitioner program accredited by
the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or the
Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). Certification by
the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or American Academy
of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) by the
Texas Board of Nursing (TBON). Licensed Advanced Practice
Registered Nurse (APRN) in a nurse practitioner clinical area of
specialization by the Texas Board of Nursing (TBON). Income
