Job Description LOCUM Corrections Psychiatrist *128770: Southeast, Texas Type of Provider(s) client will accept (Including Specialty): Psychiatrist Start Date: ASACDates: 3 months with possibility of extensionWork Schedule: Mon - Fri with 8-hour shiftsInpatient or Outpatient: Inpatient clinic setting within the prisonStaffing Mix: Will have medical support staff in the medical infirmaryDoes the Provider need to prescribe? YesCertifications required: ACLS; BLS - Must be AHA certified; Must be board certified or Board EligibleBackground Experience: Inpatient Psychiatry Credentialing Requirements/Timeframe: 14-21 daysAdditional Information:Will complete evaluations in D&E (Diagnostic and Evaluation) - up to 5 working days to stabilize and determine if patients need admission to a treatment trackWill also see patients who have already been admitted - treat with psychotropic medications, discharge back to assigned units when stablePsychiatrists will assist with involuntary admission hearings, compelled medication hearings, and evaluations/documentation for civil commitments to free world state psychiatric hospitals (inmates leaving the prison system who require additional psych treatment) - may be required to testify in commitment hearings occasionally - currently doing by Zoom/phone.Become an ICON: Never worry about your travel accommodations again!
