Qualifications To perform Radiologic procedures as designated in
the Special Procedures department Technologists will be required to
maintain registries and continuing education hours when applicable
for modality. They will make themselves available to perform duties
as required by the area Supervisor. To assure the highest possible
quality performance and care is delivered to neonatal, pediatric,
adult and geriatric patients according to their physical needs and
limitations. What you will do in this role: - Understand procedures
performed in specials Lab - Understands sterile technique and
sterile field procedures. - Ability to communicate with physicians
and nursing personnel - Have a sound understanding of all Radiation
and other safety procedures. - Responsible for maintaining
appropriate license and continuing education. - Ensures
communication of schedule with supervisors in both base and
receiving departments. - Able to work with varying technologies
such as Meditech, PACS etc. - Prepare and administer contrast media
under the supervision of radiologist. - Able to take appropriate
action in the event of an allergic reaction - Keep updated on
current protocol changes. - Make themselves available for all
reasonable requests for services. - Ensure both departments’
Supervisors are aware of planned time off (cont.) - When on call
they must be available to be on site within 30 minutes of the call
out. - Communicate any problems or unusual situations with the
supervisor in the appropriate manner. - Report any equipment
malfunctions and place service call as needed. - Ability to
communicate patients in an age-appropriate manner and to
appropriately involve significant others. What qualifications you
will need: - Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30
days of employment start date - ARRT (R) Radiologic
Technologist/Radiographer & Texas Medical Board License - Associate
Degree - Two years of clinical experience required - preferred
