Job Description:
Position Title: New Grad Acute Inpatient Unit RN (When talking
to recruiter they ll let them know more details on the position
itself) Shift Times: Mixed (Have both Days and Nights * Based on
need of the facility; HM will discuss in detail) (3 12 Hour
Shifts)Cohort Start Dates: Next cohorts are 6/19 and 6/26.

just filled the majority of the specialized units for their new
grad roles such
as ICU, OR, ED, and L&D! However, we were asked to continue
working on the
New Grad Acute Care Inpatient Unit RN roles but the candidates need
to be open on
the units for that position. will not accept candidates that are
not open.

The HCA Healthcare StaRN Residency Program is a year-long program
designed to give you hands-on experience to help establish valuable
clinical and critical thinking skills. As a RN Resident you will be
surrounded by a supportive community of nurse educators,
experienced nurses, and fellow residents that promote learning,
clinical application, and socialization, shepherding you through
the transition from student nurse to registered nurse.
The StaRN Residency Program at HCA Houston Healthcare Conroe
provides you with the tools necessary to succeed in today s
hospital environment. This paid program will assist you with the
transition out of the classroom setting through a formalized series
of learning experiences, including:
- Advanced clinical training in a specialty area.
- Monthly educational sessions.
- Preceptorship training with a facility preceptor.
- Measurement and evaluation of skills through hands-on
simulations.
- Mentoring from experienced nurse leaders.
- Working collaboratively on an evidence-based practice
project.What will you do in this role:
- Assess patient condition during admission and during each shift
as scheduled, identifying and reporting any changes in patient
status.
- Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered
by the medical provider(s). Document the administration of care in
the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
- Perform the administration of prescribed medications. Monitor
patient for therapeutic response. Notify provider and intervene as
appropriate in the event of an unintended response to
medication.
- Perform exceptional care by responding promptly to patient
requests. Strive to anticipate patient needs and resolve them
proactively.
- Teach patients, families and caregivers about patient medical
condition, patient status, treatment plan, medications and possible
side effects, and follow-up measures. Translates complex medical
terminology to ensure complete understanding.What qualifications
you will need:Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) obtained within 30
days of employmentAdvanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) obtained
within 1 year of employmentOther Certifications maybe required
during employmentAssociate or Bachelor s degree in Nursing
- Registered Nurse License or Graduate Nurse in the State (able
to start in tx with a another state license or compact but they
need to get a TX license within 4 of them bring hired )No previous
experience neededSome travel maybe needed for training
- 1.) Will Consider Candidates that have less than 6 months of
acute care experience as an RN
- 2.) Will accept any international candidates that have
experience in their country but not in the US yet. As long as they
have a US license they can accept them and train them.
- Updated NCLEX Rules for StaRN s entering their cohort (Start
Date):
Candidates that graduated in the
current class:If they will receive a TX License, they will receive
a grad permit that will expire 75 days post-graduation and are able
to join the cohorto If they fail their NCLEX, the lose their grad
permit and will need to be placed in the next cohort after they
receive their license.
If they will receive and out of state
license, they will need proof of a submitted TX endorsement to
apply
Candidates that graduated in a
previous class of graduated from a school outside of the U.S. will
need to pass their NCLEX and have a valid TX License/endorsement in
order to join the cohort.
Candidates that have a valid RN
License:TX License or completed endorsement can join a cohortThose
with a compact license they must show proof that the TX license
endorsement application has been submitted in order to begin in a
cohortThose with a single-state license must have their completed
TX endorsement in order to get started in the cohort. Interview
Process: Phone Screen with Recruiter (Miranda Brown) , Interview
with HM ( If they re local it'll be Onsite and if out of state then
webex Interview) and Offer stages if interested

Additional Notes:
- The program does last for 1 year with classroom training up to
9 weeks, preceptorship up to 13 weeks, and weekly meetings with our
clinical support staff for the remainder of their program.
- They can most definitely continue their employment with HCA
after the 1 year (they are just no longer under a commitment at
that time), and they are able to transfer units/ facilities at that
time if they choose.
