JOB SUMMARYWorks with engineering, operations, and manufacturing to develop and optimize heat applied processes for fixed cutter drill bits including brazing, hardfacing, and welding. Trains operators on best practices.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIESProduces engineering test samples using varied heat applied processes such as: torch brazing, rod applied hardfacing, thermal spray, and weldingSuggests process improvements for testing based on experience and organizational feedbackPerforms hands on training on brazing and hardfacing for drill bit manufacturing and repair centers globallyWorks with manufacturing to optimize processes and equipment to produce industry leading drill bitsQUALIFICATIONSHigh school diploma or equivalent10 years plus experience with brazing, torch processes, and/or weldingMinimum of 5 years direct experience with drill bit manufactureSkilled with oxy-acetylene hardfacing, plasma spray, brazing and relatedGood fundamental understanding of heat applied processesCertifications from American Welding Society or similar preferredJOB REQUIREMENTSTeam player with excellent interpersonal and communications skillsUse of email, word documents, & spreadsheetsTravel: 2-4 wks/year domestic, 1-2wks/year internationalWe are an equal opportunity employer and make hiring decisions based on merit.
