Job Description:
Job Description Overview: The Senior Credit Analyst will use
in-depth knowledge in quantitative credit risk analytics and an
understanding of retail business to develop strategies for new
originations, delinquency and loss (charge off). The
responsibilities include researching, designing, developing, and
implementing solutions using statistical methodologies as well as
business rules. This position will assist in identifying and
managing credit risk for the internal consumer finance program at
Conn---s. This role will support executive leadership with in-depth
analysis and reporting on various projects, related to data
analysis and feasibility studies to support various strategic
initiatives. This position will model institutional problems,
discover insights and identify opportunities using statistical,
algorithmic and visualization techniques. Key Duties &
Responsibilities: The Senior Analyst, Credit---s responsibilities
include, but are not limited to: Business Modeling & Forecasting
Perform analysis to identify trends and relationships in data.
Understand and maintain data and analytics to solve various
business problems. Apply time series analysis, survival analysis
and other modeling techniques to develop credit-loss forecasting
models. Identify and explore new credit risk forecasting
methodologies. Research industry trends and macroeconomic
indicators to incorporate into credit-loss forecast process to
identify risks and improve forecast accuracy. Score portfolio on a
periodic basis to identify potential charge off accounts and help
in devising quick and effective actions to reduce loss. Identify
risky customers based on previous credit performance and collection
strategy responses. Document developed models according to model
risk policies and procedures. Communicate statistical analyses and
forecast results, working with cross functional areas, to ensure
successful interpretation. Reporting & Automation Follow
organization standards to maintain quality service. Collect,
analyze, and summarize data to prepare reports and make
recommendations. Research and use best practices to achieve
effective project implementation and outcomes. Effectively
communicate with the senior management through detailed
presentations and visualizations. Help the organization drive
revenue and reduce loss rates through development of reports that
ensure continuous monitoring of customer portfolio and collection
trends. Responsible for automation of reports and maintaining files
on all aspects and activities that enhance customer loyalty, brand
recognition, sales volume and revenue. Partner and collaborate with
Manager to ensure clear identification of goals and target
audience. Strong attention to detail to ensure data is extracted
accurately and within context ensuring trends that align with the
goals. Partner with peers to design up front statistical analytic
plans ensuring ability to quantify gains and Test/Learn new credit
strategies. Responsible for assessing credit risk, reporting on
credit metrics, conducting tests (hypothesis testing, significant
tests using alpha and p values) and feasibility study of new
strategies. Responsible for identifying and utilizing best
practices of data analysis to ensure accurate results. Required
Experience Degree in relevant fields, including Statistics,
Computer Science, Data Science, Analytics, and Applied Mathematics.
Strong knowledge and experience in financial/retail industry.
Knowledge of credit, credit policy and financial statement
analysis. Strong mathematical, statistical, analytical and
computational skills. Experience with complex statistical and
advanced analytical techniques such as: logistic, linear, panel or
non-linear regression, survival analysis, clustering, optimization,
time-series forecasting and Experimental test design. Extensive
background and in-depth knowledge in data mining, data analysis and
data visualization Proven potential to code using scripting
language such as Python and R. Strong knowledge and experience with
reporting packages (Tableau etc.) and Advanced proficiency in
Excel, with strong presentation skills. Preferred Experience Five
or more years--- experience creating and maintaining management
reporting in the consumer finance industry. Prior experience
working with credit bureaus and other industry vendors. Skills &
Abilities Ability to query complex data warehouses, and aggregate
data for strategic reporting. 5 years of hands-on experience using
SQL Server and SAS to extract, clean, manipulate, transfer data,
create variables and explore patterns and relationships. Ability to
communicate with different audiences (other technical staff, senior
management and regulators) both verbally and in writing. Strong
analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze,
and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention
to detail and accuracy. Ability to think at tactical and strategic
levels with quantitative expertise to form a deep understanding of
what drives performance and why. Demonstrated ability in managing
multiple projects simultaneously through multitasking,
prioritization, and negotiation skills. Strong organizational
skills and high level of personal accountability. Excellent
communicator and creative thinker, with an ability to use data to
