Position Summary:

Responsible for performing diversified installation and repair operations as assigned to maintain the physical plant machinery, equipment and auxiliaries in proper operating condition .

Principle Duties (includes, but is not limited to):

Must work from drawings, sketches, machine operation and maintenance manuals, and oral instructions to install, adjust, repair and perform assigned general maintenance duties. Dismantle units, repair and/or replace defective parts or mechanisms, reassemble and prove out.
Must adjust or repair a broad range of machine tools such as vertical and horizontal mills, engine lathes, drill presses, etc., lift trucks, bridge cranes, air compressor and controls, air or electric powered hand tools, air and hydraulic connectors and various other plant related equipment.
Move, rig, level, align and secure machines, equipment and auxiliaries. Install various attachments such as pumps, ducts, motors, tanks, guards, brackets, and other plant related accessories. Install various attachments such as pumps, ducts, motors, tanks, guards, brackets and other plant related accessories. Cut, bend and thread pipe for tubing. Hang pipe, string up wire and cable. Working above floor heights is often necessary.
Must maintain, adjust or repair many types of electrical plant related equipment, including wiring of new and old equipment. Refer electrical repairs that require extensive repair, dealing with active electrical power and installations to Supervisor or from higher qualified personnel.
Must assist with programming and/or reprogramming PLC's on new or existing equipment. Initial programming will be performed by qualified personnel. Install conduit, boxes, switches, control panels, and safety devices.
Perform preventative maintenance as needed and as directed by Manufacturing Engineering Manager. Detect fault operation, diagnose malfunctions and provide remedy or report to proper supervisor. Maintain equipment and workplace in a neat and orderly condition.
Periodically inspect conditions of plant operating machines and equipment for preventative maintenance purposes. Detect faulty operations, diagnose malfunctions, and provide remedy or report to proper supervisor.
Ability to use measuring and testing instruments such as ohm meter and amp meter.
Maintain work area and equipment in a neat and orderly condition.

Essential Qualifications / Experience:

Must have Electrical Maintenance Certification or equivalent in years of experience.
Verifiable experience in pneumatics, hydraulic machine repair and Total Production Maintenance in a manufacturing environment.
Operator must be able to perform analytical troubleshooting and do complex electrical installation, repair and assembly of electronic equipment, PLC Programming control panels and wiring.
Five or more year's maintenance/electrical experience in a manufacturing environment.
