Major Duties
Classification: Exempt/Non-Bargaining
Position may be located remote. #LI-Remote Preferred location is
Roseville, CA or Rochester, NHAs a skilled technical advisor, the
Network Architect provides expertise, strategic planning and
recommendations to executive management for new technologies and
network applications in response to business and customer needs.
The Network Architect works with Senior Architects and internal
partners to evaluate and design solutions to enhance the network.
They apply design principles and methodology to ensure
cost-effective and optimal use of resources while maintaining
network integrity
Responsibilities
Evaluate alternative technologies and
architectures in relation to Consolidated Communications'
infrastructure needs. Interface with management and vendors to
develop and implement new solutions to meet business requirements.
Design and manage the rollout of critical network infrastructure to
support Consolidated Communications' products and services, on both
a strategic (long term) and tactical (immediate term) level.
Perform analytical, technical, cost analysis and CAPEX development
work in the planning, design, installation and on-going
administration and management of Consolidated Communications' core
data networks. Ensure that network infrastructure is fully
documented and performing as required for internal and customer SLA
guarantees and expectations by means of specific metrics and
measurements. Provide technical expertise to Product Development to
develop new product strategies and enhance existing product sets.
Contributes to departmental activities and programs by
accomplishing related tasks as needed.
Qualifications
CCNP Service Provider, Enterprise or
Security. Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of SD-WAN, Security and
SASE technologies. Velocloud and Palo Alto experience is a plus.
Security certifications such as PCNSE or CISSP is a plus.
Experience with DDoS mitigation platforms. Proficiency in Python
development for the purposes of automating repetitive network
tasks. Familiarity with network automation concepts such as
intent-based networking and model-driven architectures (YANG).
Working knowledge of REST, RESTCONF and NETCONF interfaces. Cisco
NSO experience is a plus. Exceptional documentation and
communication skills. Ability to explain complex technology to
non-technical team members. Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of
designing and operating voice, data and video networks at the
Access, Aggregation, and Core layers. Understanding of modern
service provider data networks and technologies including but not
limited to: IPv6, MPLS, IS-IS, OSPF, BGP4, EVPN, VXLAN, Segment
Routing and CGNAT. Working knowledge of virtual and containerized
environments (AWS, VMWare, Kubernetes, Docker) Familiar with
high-speed VNF technologies including DPDK and SR-IOV Superior
knowledge, skills and experience with Cisco or Arista routing
hardware, software, protocols etc. Strong working knowledge of
structured cabling systems, network facilities, electrical, UPS,
etc. Ability to work alone as an individual contributor, as a
technical lead and as a participant in a team environment.
Education/Experience Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science
or Network Engineering with six (6) or more years directly related
experience in a telecommunications service provider network.

Salary
Pay range (commensurate with skills and experience): $86,848 -
$131,635
