Orion Talent, the nation's largest military recruiting firm, is currently recruiting transitioning or former military professionals for Inventory Control Specialist positions with a leading high-mix, low-volume sheet metal and structural fabrication shop that uses a variety of equipment (CNC LVD Lasers, punch press, press brakes, tube lasers, CNC tube benders, spot welders, rollers, etc.) to make products with the world's most advanced technology.

Position Details
Location: Conroe, TX (40 miles north of downtown Houston)
Compensation: Target base salary -$65K - $80K
Shift: 1st shift (Mon-Fri)

Position Description
As an Inventory Control Specialist, you will report to the Supply Chain/Operations Supervisor and be responsible for maintaining the inventory of materials, buyouts and consumables for company operations. You will work closely with supply chain/procurement, ERP/MRP, and production teams to manage onsite inventory both physically and systematically. Some other specific responsibilities include:
--- Establish and execute Kanban systems to kit materials and buyouts for upcoming scheduled work orders and jobs in production.
--- Responsible for performing/coordinating weekly cycle counts.
--- Work with operations, production and engineering teams to reconcile any inventory variances.
--- Maintain accurate records of incoming/outgoing materials and equipment.
--- Work procurement and vendors to maintain adequate material levels to prevent shortages.
--- Coordinate with receiving for deliveries.
--- Place purchase requests within our internal purchasing and buying team.
--- Maintain warehouse in a clean, 5S and orderly fashion.
--- Operate forklifts, hand lifts and carts in loading/unloading items.

Position Requirements
--- 3+ years of experience in an inventory control, logistics, and/or warehouse environment.
--- Good PC skills and proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, SharePoint, etc.).
--- Ability to lift 30-50lbs on a daily basis.
