Key Responsibilities As a Wastewater Field Technician, you’ll support the operations of municipal wastewater treatment facilities by: Coordinating and scheduling sample pickups to meet lab deadlines. Collecting wastewater samples from treatment plants and transport sites according to strict safety and environmental protocols. Ensuring accurate and complete documentation on all sample bottles and accompanying paperwork. Delivering samples to designated labs and maintaining chain-of-custody protocols. Supporting data integrity by verifying deliveries and collecting required signatures. Qualifications Education : Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Environmental Science, Microbiology, Engineering, or a related field. Licensing : Valid driver’s license required. Experience : Previous work with wastewater systems or municipal utility districts is a plus. Familiarity with sampling protocols and GIS software (ArcGIS or QGIS) is preferred. Attributes : Detail-oriented, reliable, punctual, and committed to safety and quality in the field. Physical Demands Ability to lift and carry up to 150 lbs. Comfortable with long driving periods and frequent physical activity (bending, walking, standing). Able to work in all types of weather conditions, including heat, cold, and rain.
